So all the buzz at the moment is that we are getting a Sinister Six movie and if you don't know what that is or what the hell I'm talking about are give you a short explanation now. The Sinister Six are six of Spider-Mans greatest villains joined together by their leader Dr.Octopus to finally take down the Spider once and for all. You know the drill the villains are getting annoyed that one little man is managing to smart mouth them and beat and destroy their plans over and over and over again. So for example imagine the Avengers if they were replaced by super villains sounds promising right a film all about the villains. Which I am going to say this now and if I'm wrong then are hold my hands up and call myself a moron but if this film is done well and done to a quality standard we could be looking at a series good enough to rival the Avengers. A bold statement seeing as the first Avengers film was basically loved by everyone and made a billion dollars at the box office but its possible. The film has been called a tale of redemption where their not necessarily portrayed as villains because come on their not villains just really miss understood people aren't they??
So lets start with the big question that everyone has been asking just what villains are going to be part of the Sinister Six which with a wide range of villains to choose from all of them great in their own way their not hard for choice. But while they could choose anyone I think that its obvious that they are going to play it safe seeing as this is a big risk their taking with this movie. A movie set in the Spidey universe where he isn't the main character or story for the film a big risk which we are still yet to see if it will pay off. They will go with villains that will bring in the audience as Spider-Man isn't the headliner of this movie you need villains people are going to be excited for. So who are we going to see in this movie??
Well Venom is a obvious one he's an evil Spidey, they have announced a Venom movie so this could lead perfectly into it and he's a great villain that makes for great viewing. When done right may I say because I don't think anyone really enjoys remembering the portrayal in Spiderman 3 I know that I sure don't.
The next villain of Six will be Kraven the Hunter he's the perfect fit for this sort of film he's a badass, a hunter who will try to redeem himself by taking on the scum of New York city and he likes hunting spiders. He's also going a little off topic here but he's been announced to appear in the amazing Spider-Man 2 game where he acts as a friend and mentor to are wall crawler. So maybe we might see him appear in Spider-Man 3 and have him brainwashed by Oscorp and made into a solider of their own bidding for the Six. But back to the games if you have played the first game Rhino first appeared in that game and now he's in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 so maybe their doing the same here. But talking about the game again for a second they also have shown what looks like carnage being created in a sick experiment by Oscorp. So who knows maybe we might see Carnage appear in the The Amazing Spider-Man 3 to take out spider-man and becomes out of control in which turn they create venom for the six programme. So maybe that could then turn out to be their first assignment taking out carnage seeing as it takes more then one man to take out Carnage because Spidey certainly could never by himself. So back to Kraven like I said before it should mean that we will see him turn up in the movies at some point between now and the Six movie. But I'm not so sure he will start out as the villain what if he is made into the villain by Oscorp for use for the Six. I completely believe we will see a Sinister Six created by Oscorp. So Venom/Carnage or maybe both of them will be created to be a super solider for use against those who go against them.
Next will be the leader of the Six probably a scientist that worked on the tentacles for Oscorp who became a volunteer and will become the infamous Dr.Octopus. Both DR.OC and Vulture are going to be created by Oscorp which everyone already knows if you have seen the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. We will see another member of Oscorp volunteer for the Six Programme who will then become the vulture. What I think we will find in amazing 2 and 3 we will get subtle hints as to who the villains of the six are going to be. Seeing as two have already been thrown right in are faces and are part of the original six it makes obvious sense for them to be part of the six.
The next member of the group will be Dr. Curtis Connors who will be brought back to Oscorp so that he can then be given a choice. Either help create a group of super soldiers from his serum that they will still have on ice because their Oscorp and their sick evil and twisted. Or he becomes part of the Six and gets told a ton of lies about how he will be able to redeem himself and show people that he is no longer a monster. So he will help the Six amid the lies that he is being told which will eventually be what turns him against the Six when he finally finds out the truth about what their true motives are.
Then the final member of the super human group will be Electro. WHY? Because he's already like the lizard been set up and he's no doubt going to be popular with audiences when they go to see Amazing 2. He also have a reason for revenge against Spider-Man which they could promise to him that he will get if he helps them. Also all he wanted was for people to notice him and not to be a nobody anymore so why not promise him that people will grow to love him if he shows himself as no longer the villain but the hero. This could turn out to be a redemption story for a select few members of the team as they try to show the world and the people of New York that they are no longer the monsters that they showed themselves to be.
So next lets talk about casting possibilities for are six:
Dr. Octopus: Bryan Cranston/Kelsey Grammer - now this role is one that I thought a lot about and Kelsey and Bryan fit the bill they both can play the smart scientist, who is both charismatic and a gentlemen. But they are also have also both proven that they are able to play that evil monster. Kelsey Grammar I know that some of you will think Fraiser really?? but hear me out what the TV show Boss that he stars in he proves very much so that he can play a monster and a evil man when the right role comes up.
Vulture: Charles Dance/ John Malkovich - Now this needs to be someone of age which both Charles and John fit the bill for, their both great actors and can give great performances when needed. Charles is a long shot because of his schedule with Game of Thrones but he might be no longer in the show when the filming for Six comes round so he's still a possibility.
Kraven: Mads Mickelson - He is the only option that I could think of when I think Kraven he's a brilliant actor that can play both monster and gentleman. He also fits the bill for Kraven beef him up a bit stick a beard on him and we would have are Kraven
The Lizard: Rhys Ifans - this one is already sorted no point changing actors when you have a great one right there already.
Venom: Jared Leto/ Aron Paul/ Jamie Bell - So Venom was a shot in the dark but I went with three actors that have proved that they are great actors and in their prime. My main choice is Jamie if you haven't seen Nymphomaniac then I suggest seeing him in that because he shows himself to be a complete animal and crazy nut job that would fit the bill.
Electro: Jamie Foxx - Again why change the actor when you have a brilliant one already sitting there for you. As well as that he brings in the audience and the excites the people to see the film.
Obviously these are all complete speculations and apart from the Lizard and Electro will be completely wrong if these villains are chosen. Mostly because I have this scary suspicion that we will be looking at a cast of young actors to relate to the younger family audience that they are aiming these films at. I just hope that they don't because this film should be dark and more adult aim for a adult audience the guys that grew up reading these stories. Making it darker because their villains even if its a redemption story they will still be killers and monsters.
Next my ideas (predictions nothing more no facts here) for the plot/ storyline for the Sinister Six
Dr.Octopus/Vulture/Kraven/Venom will all be introduced in Amazing Spider-Man 3. They won't all be villains in Spider-Man 3 a Vulture and Dr.Octopus may just be mentioned by name or will be the main villains of the film. The others will be sub-villians or in Venoms case maybe just mentioned as a testing programme happening at Oscorp. Kraven I will suspect will be introduced as a friend/mentor as he has been introduced at in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 game this makes sense like I said with Rhino turning up in the first game and then becoming a villain in the second film. So why not have him be introduced the same way that they introduced Curt Connors in the first film, he could even be another friend of his dads. Who helps Spider-Man hunt down the men that maybe took something from Kraven to create the venom for example and help him expose Oscorp. Which during that time he will be captured by Oscorp and twisted and brainwashed into another solider for use by them for the Six Programme.
The Six programme will be six of Oscorps creations all of them will be either employees or volunteers for the programme all of them having been turned into super solider killing machines. They will be made to work together under the leadership of Dr. octavius as they become the new assault team for Oscorp. Sent out to show the people that Oscorp aren't the monsters that they have been made out to be, their goal to do Spider-mans job for him and make him out to be the monster and of no use to the city anymore. All the while select trusted members of the Six have been give a secondary mission.
To kill the Spider. Which while that will be their goal Spider-man will only make a small cameo role as this isn't a film about him so he should be secondary. It will be used ass a way to set up a new trilogy of Spider-Man movies. I would expect for them to kill the Spider-Man in this film and for Venom to become the new Spider-Man. Which will lead into the Venom movie where he will see him start out as evil trying to tarnish Spider-Mans name but we will see Venoms redemption story as he becomes the new hero for the city.
As for the rest of the Six the Lizard will start to take over Connors mind again, he will try to fight it and show himself to the people of the city that its not him anymore and that he's a changed man. Which is why I see him as being the member of the team that will go against them, which will then lead to him helping Spider-man take on the Six. With the help of the other super solders (or lizards) created by Connors for Oscorp. But what would be great to see is if they would then take a twist and have Connors be eventually killed by his own kind that leading to the eventual downfall of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. It will all like I said be a set up for a venom movie and a brand new trilogy or movies not a reboot again but a continuation of the story where they can take it in another direction.
Do you think that I've put a lot of thought into it?? But obviously all of this is not concrete or fact just speculation as no plot details have been released yet as its still in the very early stages.
What I am hoping they don't do is try and make it for a family audience, the one thing that they can't do is try and take the evil and wickets away from them and try and make them funny and likeable. This isn't Avengers they aren't nice people or likeable people so I just don't want them to try and make them likeable and funny like Peter is for example. There villains at the end of the day so why not just keep them that way. Also have them not like each other make them hate each other. that their not together because they want to be but because they have no choice in the matter if they want their personal vendettas to be accomplished. Make this a film where 6 villains all have their own schemes that they will try and accomplish throughout the film which involves taking over the city and taking out their fellow team members. Lets make this a dark and gritty movie where hate, murder and evil are what their all about this isn't meant to be a story for families its a story for the fans. If done right I totally believe as I stated at the beginning that this could be Sony's Avengers. I would easily go as far to say that if its done right we are looking as a series with potential for multiple sequels with loads of different villains to choose from. So what if for example we saw one sinister six being led by the kingpin sitting back and creating the sinister twelve giving them their city that they deserve. Its a chance to finally see Mysterio, venom, carnage, shocker and black cat finally brought to the big screen. Sony could if done right be sitting on a little gold mine for years to come.
Will Spider-Man appear in the film??
I strongly believe that Spider-Man will appear in the film, but not so much as a main cast member because this isn't his movie. I think that we will see more of Peter Parker in the movie then Spider-Man this film could also work perfectly as a way to introduce the Daily Bugle to the series. It would make sense for him to turn up after the Six have taken down a group of gang members for example and he goes to get the pictures for the Bugle. As the Six become the big popular new as Spider-Man becomes old news. This would also be a way to set up that he learns that the Six next target will be Spider-Man. This will also be a great chance to introduce Jameson to the series who will show good press for the Six and will hate on the wall crawler. This will also work for a Venom movie as well if he was for example to take over as Spider-Man and its him against the press of the Daily Bugle as they hate on him more and more for being a menace to the city. It could work well as a redemption story for the Venom. But then again who says that they will even include Spider-Man in the movie but they would be mad not to just to make up the connection between the both of them. (The six and Spider-Man)
Future Film Possibilities:
- Sinister Seven and Maybe even Twelve movies
- More single villain movie possibilities
- A chance to see a carnage movie but that could be asking a lot
- This could lead into a future series (might see a 2099 Spidey)
- Chances for possible crossover movies (different spiders from different eras)
Well seeing as there isn't nothing that isn't possible as far as Spider-Man now with the series.
Whats obvious if this film does work and the Venom film works we will then see more villain movies Carnage, Mysterio and Sandman just to name a few. Just hope that if they did decide to do that they don't just churn them out because it means more money but that they actually have a point to progression future story lines for Six or Spider-Man. Just a few examples those Carnage or Sandman movies would be great those. Its also a chance for the start of a new trilogy of Spider-Man films and more powerful and stronger villains and story lines. F**k family films lets make it for the older fans that grew up with it after all.
Over all the more that I think about this film the more that I get excited about it and the endless possibilities and directions that this film could take this in. But at the same time I would still be just as scared as excited about the film because if Amazing Spider-Man 2 is anything to go by then we could just be looking at a stupid family film. While I think I've thought about this way to much and a lot more then I should have done this could turn into one of Sonys greatest decisions that they have made in a while. Spider-Man is certainly looking like its hear to stay and while everything I have said is just speculation and not concrete I think the guess work everyone is going to be doing will turn out to be true. Could we be looking at 10 years of Spider-Man planned out for the future were just have to wait and see but what is clear Sinister Six is the best possibility for a rival that we have had to the Avengers for a long long while.
