Agents Of Shield "Nothing Personal" Review - Miss Hill what a nice surprise

*SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE FOLLOW*

So after last weeks weaker episode we were straight back into the action this week as Coulson and the team came to the realisation that everyone's faviroute moody agent was Hydra. (And no I'm not talking about Mai) But we picked up straight where we left off last week with Coulson and the team co I back to find a empty base with the place deserted and one dead agent with a subtle message. We also saw Maria Hill star in the show this week and oh how I wish she was full time cast member because she was brillaint. It tied nicely in with the end of Cap 2 which if you haven't seen yet then why the hell are you still watching Sheild because that film is spoiled for you now. It was also a great chance to see her and Coulson on screen together who we haven't seen this pair up since Avengers when Coulson met his death. 

So Maria Hill came back this week as she left just one of many meetings and interviews about Sheilf and how she had to try and explain how this top goverment agency had been compromised. It was also great to see her just look around and pick out all the people following her from the woman not really reading her texts to the fake tramp with a trolley. That was until they all mysteriously ended up knocked out on the ground when we find out ninja Mai got rid of them so that her and Maria could chat privately. Mai played a small role in this weeks episode as she tried to find out the secrets of the Tahiti project and uncover the secrets that even she didn't know about the cover up. But we're get to that secret later because it was a shocker to put it bluntly. But Maria and General Talbot who if I am getting it correct is the general that chases down Bruce Banner in the comics someone can let me know if that's right or wrong. But they turned up at the base this week where Maria put it out straight for Coulson that there was no more sheild and that their team should just go their separate ways now. That agent fury wasn't coming back and that the task he was taking on to take down Garret wasn't a mission anymore but a personal vendetta. It was just the words that Coulson had to hear seeing as he has still been going under the assumption that there was a organisation to fight for. It was good to see the first real cameo from one of the cinematic universe characters seeing as thier previous attempts such as the woman from Thor and Nick Fury cameo haven't exactly been amaizng. It was a much better episode for the show this week and a lot of they I feel comes from Maria Hills inclusion in the episode. 

So Mai had a small part to play this week as she left the team last week and was picked up in a car by her mother where we quickly learnt that it's very much mother like daughter. So after findingg Maria and explaining to her the situation she goes in search for answers by digging up Coulsons grave. (Remember as far as the rest of the world is concerned Coulson is dead) She digs up his grave to get the one remaining peice of evidence that they buried in his empty coffin a tape on project Tahiti. It's a level 10 tape that can should only have been watched by Director Fury but those times are over. So this was the biggest shock of the episode and it really changed things up because I feel the Reveal at the end of the episode really answered more questions about the project. So we eventually find out at the end of the episode that it was a video from Coulson to Fury I know shock moment that was. It was great because I don't know if anyone else was the same but I just wasn't expecting it at all. So in the tape he is handing in his resignation as he can't bring himself to be part of the Tahiti project any longer. He also advices that they cancel it and destroy any evidence of it that this avenger revival programme was a death sentence and the subjects that they used on it didn't survive for long after. That the only way they managed to combat the effects (this is where I feel he should have kept his mouth shut) is by wiping thier memory's so that they have no memory of it ever happening. It was a shock for Coulson and it makes me wonder what will happen to Coulson and Sky now because they both have the serum inside of them. It also brings the situation into question of that where does that leave Coulson now because now he knows the truth will his mind slowly start deteriorating until he loses it compelty. With only two episodes left I'm sure that we will see this situation worsen as he's now lost everything that ever mattered to him. Well I'm sure that we are in for an exciting two last epsiodes especially as Ward becomes more and more loyal to Hydra and thier cause. 

So talking of Ward how he just annoys me he's the male version of Mai isn't he he has no expression on his face whether he's happy sad or angry it's all the same face. So him and Sky made thier way to LA as Sky started to decrypt the file for Ward or well that's what he thought anyway. She was actually just biding her time till the team could get her location and get her back safely. I inj the stand out point of Ward and Sky scenes this week was when she punched him in the face it was just so satisfying to watch because I never liked his character anyway and I like him even less now. So along with Ward sky had to deal with Deathlock who Garrett sent I would guess to make sure that Ward stayed on task and didn't let his feelings get in the way. Also he knew that Sky wouldn't let him die so they used him almost dying to get the file back. Their scenes were where the episode felt weak for me as Ward has always felt like the weakest character of the show as they have never developed him in anyway. But next week that is certain to change as we find out just how this young man became a ruthless killer for sheild. Sky also has a bad poker face as she tried to stall long enough for the team to find the plane which they eventually did and Coulson being her knight in shinning armour saved her. As they escaped in his red flying car that we haven't seen since the premiere episode I think. It was great little scene and it reminded me of a low budget winter Soilder scene instead of a helicarrier falling out of the sky it was a car. 

I think the person that I really felt for this week is Fitz most because he's my faviroute character is the show and the relationship between him and Simmons has been great how it's developed over the last few weeks. Seeing Fitz finally lose it this week with everything has his friend turned out to be Hydra you felt for him because it looked like his whole world had just come crashing down. The whole episode I felt centered around how the team dealt with the shock of Ward being Hydra. Seeing everyone take it in a diffrent way was great and I just would love to see Mai or Coulson fight it out with him because he certainly needs a good kicking for what he's done. While the episode wasn't perfect I think the last few episodes has left things in a good position heading into the finale and who knows maybe were see Coulson make an appearance in Avengers 2??

But overall the episode was much stronger this week with the shock ending it just put the icing on the cake to a brillaint thrilling episode of the show. We had a flying car crashing out of the sky, Deathlock action, ward getting a smack in the mouth how could it get any better really. Just bring on the final two epsiodes as this show is going from strength to strength.

TURN Of Cabbage and Kings Review - Abe's seeing Blue

*SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE FOLLOW*

This show just doesn't dissapointment does it I find myself liking this show more every week and having missed it and then trying to catch up with it again it makes me wish we had a recap at the start. But it didn't take long for me to start remembering just where things are as they stand and how Abe was close to boiling point this week as far as his loyalty to his father and the British. What's awful because I'm Britsh myself I find myself just hating the Redcoats in this programme and I think it is just a praise to the writers for getting that feeling from everyone. 

So last epsiode we saw Simcoe in the hands of Ben Tallmade and the men of Washington as they planned to move onto one of the forts occupied by their fellow soilders. But that didn't go exactly to plan as they made thier way through the mist and fog they were greeted by wounded soilders retreating from the fort. Who told them the fort had been overrun and they had taken Washington hostage and he was most likely already dead. Now what I like is that Washington feels almost more like a story that thier is this general out thier fighting the redcoats to take back thier homes for his people. It feels more like a rumour or a story that they tell young kids to send them off to sleep with hope in their minds. Which I can imagine that they most probably did. Now we all know how this story will turn out and where it will eventually lead to but part of me did think that oh god are they really on the verge of losing. I mean they don't have to go compelty factual with the show as long as they end it the way it ended in history that's fine but you can go off the books with it. But back to those soilders coming out of the fog I thought that was brillaint the way these figures slowly just emerged through the fog was like the living dead men that have already given up. But what was great about that scene and I feel he was the stand out part of the episode was Simcoe. All of the little snarky comments that he have through out the episode were funny and he's become that character you love to hate. The way that he piped up and say yeah well let's just continue on then was great and it shows the difference between the red coats and the blue. But he played a prominent role through out the episode as he patronised every memeber of the squad because he knows he can't be killed well not for now anyway. I think where this became most prominent was when they were sitting round at table for dinner before some of thier fellow soilders tried to cause a mutiny against thier captain. The way he say thier and praised them for thier food and wine but at the same time patronised them for it was great and he have that persona of that he's above them all. While I don't particularly like his character I think he's like the Joffery to Gamw of Thrones you love to hate him but if he wasn't there for those paticular scenes they would be boring and a hole would be there hard to fill without them. 

But let's talk about those mutiny boys quickly because I felt sorry for younger one that was shot because he was part of it even when Ben begged for him to be spared. It just shows what sort of world that they lived in and if you went against the cause that you fought for then you were already dead. I can also guess that this isn't the last that we are going to see of these sort of mutinys happening as men begin to question their loyalty to the cause that they fight for. They were also men that Caleb fought along side as well and I would have guessed called brothers at one point or another but not anymore. As Caleb went to find Abe and try and get him to become loyal to thier cause and get more information for them he found no one but Mary. Caleb is a character that I neither like nor hate mostly because I feel that he is neither loyal to the blues or the reds. I mean his brothers in arms tried to cause a mutiny so why wouldn't he do the same if he felt that things weren't going according to plan. But I did like the Caleb, Mary and Abe team up when he made it back from New York that was great to see I just wish that we could have seen more of that. But I did like the relationship between Mary and Caleb as I sensed some sort of tension between the both of them like theirs more to thier relationship then they are letting on. But seeing Abe become that spy that we all knew he would become was great as he helped Caleb escape and have him information about a German retaliation in the coming weeks in New York. The ending with Caleb was brillaint as well as he sung his way out in style making his escape from the enemy. I didn't find that this episode really continued the story much as far as plot it was more of a continuation of the previous weeks episode by giving Abe the motive to become a spy. 

So Abe and his father left to go to New York which worked in Calebs favour which was a nice and lucky coincidence for both of them. As they made thier way into New York which I thought was beautiful by the way they didn't scrap corners on anything in the show. It was fantastic to watch as his father said well to the island of New York and as the boats pass they reveal something that looks like it's come straight out of the books. Even if you don't like the show which I could understand its a hard show to get into and I certainly didn't feel it myself when it first started. But while it does take a little while to get into if you stick with it I see this show having a great future. Well especially seeing as Abe is a fully fledged spy now thanks to his father keeping secrets from him. Which came out over dinner when he was made aware that his father was selling veg to the British under everyone's nose and at the expense of others all to help the cause if you were. It was great to watch as Abe slowly started to boil until he bubbled over through anger at his father for lying to him all this time. The high point of Abes part in the epsiode was when he through the poppy into the water as he watched the red coats praised by the crowed as they marched. It was brilliant to watch and finally see that we are going to see Abe finally start to do some spying after all that is what we are all watching the show for. 

But to be honest that's about it for the episode I didn't really feel that it continued the plot on in anyway it was used more as a way to give Abe a motive for leaving his father and going back and becoming a agent for Caleb. I still like that we haven't seem Washington in the show yet and I wouldn't mind if they kept it that way because it then makes him seem like a fable a hero in stories. I just hope that the plot starts of move a bit faster now that he's a spy as I feel it's been quite slow at the moment.

Arrow Seeing Red Review - Well even the weak episodes can be brilliant

*MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE FOLLOW

So this weeks episode was probably the weakest and hardest hitting episode this weak and it just proves that even the weaker issues of the show can be just plain amazing. So this week was all about Roy being as he's gone a bit mental after them finding him last week strapped to that contraption making a dozen super soilders. Also Roy hasn't been the same since he was injected with the miracurue so having more of it injected in him and making him a human blood doner van is certainly enough to mess anyone up. But on the plus side this week there wasn't any island flashbacks instead we had some brillaint Moira scenes from 7 years previous.

So let's start with those flashback scenes as I feel that they were some of the better parts of the episode but they only really become clear and feel like they have a point to them after the episode has finished. So the flash back involved Oliver admitting to him mum that he cheated on Laruel with a young girl and now she's pregnant with his child. (Naughty boy Oliver how many women did you cheat on her with) But like I said it was hard at first to understand the significance of these scenes other them a caring mother that is just trying to right by her son. But as the episode gets into the last 10 minutes those scenes become clear that she will do anything for her son and daughter if it means thier safety and is what's best for them. So can we just say it now R.I.P Moira well that was a shock twist this week I wasn't expecting that I thought that this was just going to be one of those weak episodes as they set things up for the bigger picture. But boy was I wrong as that speeding car slammed into thier limo I quickly realised that I had got excited about Slade not being in the episode to quickly. Those last 10 minutes are what saved the episode for me because if it wasn't for that last scene I would have easily called this episode a write off as nothing else really happened in the epsiode. But back to Slade he decided that Oliver must pay for what he did to shadow all those years ago by order of ghost shadow of course. It makes me wonder if that's why they are all a bit crazy because thier like the kid from the Six Sense they see dead people. So he gave Oliver the same choice he was given before but this time choose which one lives your sister or your mother. Which was sick, twisted but damn did it make for some great watching. It was also the point that his mother realised that Slade was on the island with Oliver and that's where the grudge and the hate comes from. Was a busy week for his mother she deliberated whether or not to bow out of the mayoral debate, admitted to her son that she knew he was the arrow and tried to patch things up with her daughter. But unfortunately all of this never came to pass as she did the only thing that she could do sacralise herself for the safety of her children. It was a real shock for me it wasn't something i suspected in the slightest and I was surprised at how upset I got about her death. But that's something great about the show they can just throw out these shock moments that you won't expect coming in the slightest. (Just keep them coming) But like I said its after her death that the flashback scenes really become clear and show themselves to have a real purpose. That no matter what she would do what's best for her son to give him a better life and keep him safe even if that means giving up her own life. Great flashback, had a point and keep the island stuck out worked so much better. 

So let's go on to the weaker part of the episode this weak involving the wild goose chase that was looking for Roy who escaped from them after waking up from his sedation. Now I don't know whether I was he only one that felt this but I didn't get it or what the point was of him waking up and running amuck. I mean those two poor police officers and Seth who got a slap in the face for the trouble of trying to be a good friend. For about half the epsiode I was really behind the whole looking for Roy thing because I thought we would find out what's making him do this. That's until I quickly realised that there was no reason for why he was doing this and other then that he was just completly mental now. I think this whole Roy chase was less about finding them and more about splitting Oliver and Sarah apart. Which works for me really as I feel that's she's really run her course in the show and as she left she said she's going to see an old friend. So I'm guessing she's going back to the league of assassins well that's the only explanation that I have for it anyway. 

But like I said I think this whole Roy chase was defiantly less about finding Roy and more about Oliver and Sarah and showed them just how diffrent they are. That they have very diffrent opinions on how things should be handeld as she prepares or end Roy's life once and for all. Which I wouldn't have been crying if he died he's another character that I feel has very much run his course. He's like the annoying kid in the back of the car constantly questioning everything so to say I was begging Sarah to get rid of him was an understatement. It would have also made for a much stronger epsidoe if they had killed him off also this week it would have given Sarah much more of a motive to leave. It them would have also meant that the whole episodes chase for Roy wouldn't have felt like it was for nothing as they spent all that time looking for him just to put him back where we started at the start of the episode. It felt like de ja vu or groundhog day that we were just watching the same thing happen again but with things going wrong in which Sarah left. It was a slow epsidoe really this week and it didn't really move the plot along in anyway it slowed it down more then anything. But like i said all that saved it was those last 10 minutes and the death of Oliver and Phias mother it was a shock and something that's actually made the epsiode feel it had a purpose. 

This must be the shortest review for a show I've done lately but with so little happening in the episode and nothing really happening in the plot to move it along. So there's not really much to talk about his week other then that I feel that if there wasnt that death at the end of the episode then I would have classed this epsiode as a write off. Roy chase was pointless and ending with them in the same situation as they started in with them only then deciding to use a powerful sedative to keep him under. I would have used that on him straight away even if it was only to keep him quiet for a bit but like I said missed opportunity there not killing him off whould have made sense for him to die then. But RIP Moira it was a fitting send off for a brilliant character that i will miss in the show and her flash back scene were the best part of the episode.

Hannibal Shiizakana Review - All men can become beasts

*SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE FOLLOW*

So can we just start by talking about just how great this show is and how they have managed to start topping themselves each week making it better and better. Ever since they killed off Chilton the show has started to feel like it's had a fresh new start like a brand new season of the show. This week we saw Will and Hannibals twisted rollar coaster of a relationship take another drastic turn this week as they discussed what it meant to kill another human being. Would it be as satisfying to kill a man with a bullet in the barrel of a gun as it would be to kill him with your bare hands?? 

This weeks show was very much Will and Hannibal centred which I feel that we had lost with the first half of the season as Will coped with being placed in a unit for the criminally insane. But to get back to what make the show so great has been brillaint these past couple of weeks since Will became Hannibals patient again. What was clear from the outset of this weeks episode is that Hannibal was planting that seed in Wills head again to warp his mind in the way that he wanted to. The first season was to frame him for being a killer that he wasn't name Hannibal Lecter and now he's transforming him into the perfect killer that he knows he can be. Almost like its one of his children he's molding him in his own image which is why I chose the picture above because they look like twins. Will has even started to dress like Hannibal in a lot of ways and his mannerisms have started to change as he becomes more of a killer. So this week started off with a dream sequence of Hannibal tied to a tree slowly being tightened around his neck as Will had the stag pulling the rope to pull it tighter in around his throat. It was a chance to just see the seed becoming deeper in planted in his mind as killing and the thought of killing was becoming more and more important for him. We also had a darker cooking scene for the show as Hannibal cooked a liver for him and Jack. It was a tense moment for Hannibal as he passed Jack the plate and mentioned the words liver to him Jacks eyes twitched if you noticed. You can still see that in the back of his mind he thinks about what Will told him but knows in his heart that he has nothing to go on and all the evidence shows Will to be wrong. It was less air time for the rest of the cast this week as Jack was pushed back to smaller scenes with either Hannibal or Will this week. Hannibal used his charm to keep Jack on his side while Will worked professionally as usual as they came across a less then normal murder case. 

So it was less a murder case and more an animal attack well that was how it was made out to be anyway maybe a bear or a wolf. But then why would you call the FBI for a simple animal attack case not the normal sort of thing that they would be called out for. Now something that you can't fault the writers for and the creators of the show is the diffrent types of killers that they have in the show and they always feel fresh and new. Whether it's last weeks one with a man that burst out of a horse or this week with a man that thought of himself as an animal or to put it blunty a bear. The coincidence that came with this mysterious killer was that he fit the description for one of his former patients that he used to treat. So Hannibal being the sneaky man that he was he headed over to see him before they made it to him to warn him because he had bigger plans for him. What I love about this show is that they don't try and keep the killer a secreat each week we always get some sort of idea of who they are or we will see them killing a man or woman or 3 in the case of this man this week. But like I said Hannibal had a bigger motive for him this week in the form of using him to kill Will. Pay back I guess for Will trying to kill him makes sense really was only a matter of time before he tried to get rid of him or pay him back for the favour. But what was great about this killer this week and I think it just shows the sort of influence that he has on his patients is that he is able to create them into cold blooded killers. Or plant a seed there where it wasn't before in the case of Will Graham. Which I think was the big deception this week and planning as he planted those feelings deep in Wills brain until it all came to a head with Will killing the bear man shall we call him. 

But what was the stand out part of the episode was the ending as Hannibal opened the sliding doors expecting to see Wills dead body laying on that table just for it to be the man that he sent to kill him. What was great was the way that they had what was almost a Mexican stand off as they stared each other out and Will forgave him for sending the man to kill him. The feud I feel is now over and thier friendship is now beginning again as Hannibal started to plant his mind games in Wills mind again and mold him in his own image. I think that this weeks episode was less about the killer and more about Hannibal while it centred on Will and Hannibal it was very Hannibal centred episode. It was all about him getting even with Will for what he did to him and it was great to finally see him get his bitter sweet revenge on him. 

The only other real focus this week on the episode was Hannibals other patient that becomes more and more interesting as the episodes carry on and Hannibal plants the seed in her mind also. What was great was her scene with Will as they compared notes on Hannibal and his methods of therapy with his patients. This is where she told Will about how he said she could have someone else kill her bother for her which just gave Will even more ammo to use against him. But it was also a chance for Will to speak to him killer to killer as they realise that they are no diffrent to each other. I just hope that we see more of thesen Hannibal and Will centred episodes as the final few episodes are show. I think we could see the start of a killing double act for the both of them over the next few episodes. My faviroute part of the episode and it's something they kept coming back to during the episode and for the teaser for next week. That killing with your hands is more satisfying then killing with a loaded gun and that the thought of killing with your hands is a much better thought and much more intiment. It was great to see them get closer over a common likeness even if it was the thought of murderign another human being. 

Overall I felt this was probably the strongest epsiode since the Chilton death episode and it was great to firmly have a Will and Hannibal centered episode. Seeing them bond over a common likeness was brilliant as well and that they are no long rivals or hateful for each other but more friends and that they have become closer few sorting their differences. While Will can tell that Hannibal is a monster I think that it's become less important for him to prove him being guilty and that he respects him more as friend and ally and that thier in different from each other. I just hope that they keep with this storyline and Hannibal and Will centered episode because it's brilliant and great to watch unfold. I just can't help but praise this show and say this every week but just more people need to watch it and give it a chance because it's just utterly fantastic.

Game of Thrones "OathKeeper" Review - HODOR!

*SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE FOLLOW*

So after last weeks controversial episode that had everyone talking and has only just really died down over the last couple of days it was great to get back to a sense of normality this week. What was also great and it was a highlight of the episode this week was that Sam was hardly in the episode this week but even when he was he was still annoying. His small scene how ever long it was just made his decision last week feel even more pointless and not really needed but he had a scene with Jon which are very few and far between as of late. 

Let's start with Jon Snow he probably had the most screen time out of any of the cast in the episode as he taught the newest recruits to the watch just how to fight when it comes to a wildling. Which to be honest when you saw the recruits when the wildings do storm the wall they aren't going to be of much use. Now while it wasn't some of the most exciting scenes this week for Jon it was all for a purpose as Jon was tasked with going back across the wall to take the fight to the Wildlings. Which does make sense seeing as they can't just wait around for them to come fighting them seeing as the watch have Sam who is useless and a young child thier not exactly the scariest army of men. While it wasn't amazing and some of the scene could have been cut down to the bare minimum I find that this show has become accustomed to re telling us information over and over just to keep are minds afresh. So hearing them remind Jon of Ygirtte and the Wildlings you wonder if thier ever let that go and relaise that they have a greater fight ahead mainly hundreds of Wildlings storming the wall. The one stand out part of this week for Jon was when he spoke to Locke who cut off Jamie's had if your remember and we last saw looking at a disfigured Theon GreyJoy. It was good to see him again this week as he's evil and can be a monster but manages to keep it under wraps with this persona of just a simple man. So as he got close to Jon this week and asked him about his mother it made me wonder if were going to to see just who his mother is soon. Obviously I have t read the books so that is all just guessing but you never know we might do. 

Let's just get the minor cast of the episode out of the way as it was as short as it was great and by this I mean Magerey again I apologise for any names I spell wrong. But she had a small part this week playing the grieving widow while her grandmother did her normal thing of being a bitch which I lover her for. We also got the subtle idea that she was involved in the murder of Joffery which come on if you have a brain then it was obvious that she would. But it was just great to hear her tell her that she wouldn't let him marry her she wasn't going to let that monster Ben husband and it's perfect murder because all the eyes are on Sansa and Tyrion. But it's also the soon departure of her grandmother from kings landing and I just hope it's not the show as well because she has been a great memeber of the cast and had brilliant scenes with people such as Tywin for example. Who we didn't see this week but he's to busy getting ready to send his son down for murder so there's no surprise there really is there. But back on Margery she had one other scene this week as she sutblely entered the future kings room and had a little chat with him and planted the seed in his mind. When a young boy of his age is approached by a beautiful woman like her it's not hard to see why he fell at her feet it's devious and smart was brilliant to watch. But what did she do to get past these supposed guards that were at the door flutter her eyes and he fell at his feet also. Or maybe it's just Jamie being the less then caring father that has more important things on his mind. 

Ahhh Jamie I don't know how I feel about him this week mostly because it just all seemed like water under the bridge this week and there was no aftermath after what he did to his sister last week. Well it all seemed water under the bridge to Jamie anyway as he got on with his duties as normal. While I feel that at the end of last weeks epsidoe there was a lot of people in anger about that scene and I won't go into it because I think it's better to just move on with it then dwell on it anymore. What I found this week is it's almost that redemption story for Jamie again this week not so much with the cast but with the fans getting them back on his side. I think it's something that just comes with the writers that they have for the show that obviously new that the scene would make him hated, and this was thier chance to make us realise that he is a good man really. Just that when you have been away for so long from the woman you love (even if it is your sister) you want that connection with them again just not next to your dead sons body next time. I did find myself not so much hating him this week as I was back to liking him watching him do the right thing and keeping his oath that he made to Brienne. Where obviously the name of this episode comes from OathKeeper because it's the name that she gives to her brand new sword to remember Jamie who I get that feeling she had started to fall for. Jamie had a busy time this week those as he was just about everywhere in Kings Landing meeting everyone e and setting his own plans in place. He had a great scene with Tyrion this week who Peter Dinkalge you can't fault can you really. Whether he's in the shoe for 5 minutes or 20 he's always utterly brillaint. But it was great to see Jamie sticking by his brother and believing him that he had nothing to do with his sons murder. Which when Tyrion said that Jamie showed signs of disgust in his face like even he hated the young boy that was his son but you know like father like son it's no wonder where he got it from with this family. But just mentioning Joffery quickly I still partially miss him in the show it still feels like there's that hole that can't be filled by anyone but him because he was just that character that the fans loved to hate. But just keep Jamie on this redemption path and e way he is now because having his motives go up and down like a rollar coster each week just doesn't make for good screen time. 

But going back to Sansa we saw her again this week in the short but sweet scene that it was I found that this week that a lot of the cast were in short but powerful scenes that just got to the point. She had a great scene with Little Finger as she came to realise that he had some part to play in the death of Joffery and so did her necklace. Or so we think because we did get that subtle scene with Margery and her necklace so who's to say that it wasn't hers that delievered the poison be even more awkward that killed by his own wife. But back to Sansa she is now on her way to her aunt where Arya is heading also so we could soon be looking at the two sisters finally being re united that would be nice see so,ethi g going right for the stark family for once. It was short and sweet but can tell that it's just the beginning of something bigger because like Sansa said why kill a king without a motive who said he doesn't.

The Queen of dragons Danerys was back again this week as we picked up basically where we left from last weeks episode as she freed more slaves of thier chains. It was a great start to the episode and just good to get it out of the way straight away while we still remembered what was going on with her. With so many diffrent cast members all up to thier own things it's hard to remember everyone at times even when she is a queen of dragons. She just gets scarier and more intimidating each week doesn't she I certainly wouldn't be messing with her. But we got to see her form of justice as for every child pinned to a cross sign she placed one of the high memebes of the city. It was just what you would expect from this woman now as she starts to get darker and darker each week but nothing wrong with that when your doing it for the right reasons right? My faviroute part of the episode and it's because it was scary and dark and it was at the end of this scene watching her look over the city listening to the sound of screams. It was scary and evil but it just works so great for her character and makes her just plain brilliant and reason that I love her in the show. She ain't that frail young woman no more. 

But let's end the way that the episode ended with Bran who finally got some real screen time this were and it reminded me of the premiere epsidoe with Arya and the Hound. It was a good not amaizng  scene for him as he continued his journey across the wall and Jon knows that he is there now so maybe they might meet at some point. Again never read the books so I haven't got any idea and don't really want to know reason I don't read the books don't want to spoil anything for myself. But it was to finally go back to those characters because I feel that they have been in the background for so long that you wouldn't have been judged for forgetting they were there. But I feel Bran was here this week more to give the ex memebers of the watch more of a purpose to the episode as they sat around drinking wine out of skulls and messing about with women till either they died or the women did. So Bran, the brother and sister duo and Hodor went looking to find out the sound of the crying baby. Who if you remember are sacrificed to the white walkers. This is when they find Ghost Jons dire wolf that for some reason I thought was dead but is it only Robbs wolf that is dead so far and maybe summer now. But was i the only one in this scene that felt sorry for Hodor and cared more about him more then what was happening to Bran. Hodor is the one I feel sorry for in this whole situation can't speak apart from his name and is now getting stabbed in the leg and treated like a beast. Bran I hope is become more of a lead cast member now as his story was getting interesting and this week felt more like the baby was the main interest rather then Bran. So why did I say it was like Arya and the Hound scene I said that because it was like the opposite ends of the scale for two stark siblings. One is having great scene, brilliant dialogue and better time of things and then Bran is just the person being left high and dry. 

This week was a strong episode it was great to see that they didn't dwell on the controversial scene last week and just put it aside as something that happened so let's just get on with it. Jamie was a stand out for this week as his remedption story to the fans was obvious as they tried to get the fans back on his side. Bran while it was great to see him properly this week it still just felt like he was put in the episode to give other characters a purpose for being there themselves. Just please give him more of a reason for being there next week as he's just been feeling less and less part of the show lately. With the rest of the cast now getting on with things having dealt wight the death of the king new plans are being put on motion that are looking like we are in for a explosive second half to the season well at least that's what we can hope for anyway can't we. Just bring Bran into it more and who doesn't love seeing Hodor on screen anyway.

Agents of Shield The Only Light in the Darkness Review - Oh how I hate you Agent Ward

*HUGE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE FOLLOW*

Lately Sheild has just been getting better and better each week topping the last and I didn't think that they would be able to keep up with that pace but boy was I wrong. Now I know this is a bold statement but I would say that this week was the best episode yet of the season, and no matter how much I hate Agent Ward he makes a damn good villain. With Agent Konieg, Ward and Sky playing massive parts in this episode it was explosive, brilliant and had some great tension in it with the last 10 minutes being utterly brilliant. 

So shall we start with Agent Konieg starting with that lie detector test and mentioning Widow was a brilliant reference to Winter Soilder and the rest of the Marvel universe. (It's great to see them tying it in now so well with the rest of the cinematic universe) It was great watching him asking e same questions to each member of the team and just hearing thier answers which all differed. My highlights were Fitz and SImmons who are fast becoming my faviroutes of the show as they both gave these over complicated answers to a simple question of what's the difference between a egg and a rock. This was a great chance to see the differences in every members of the teams minds and how they deal with diffrent situations like what's in a box on a desert island. As they differed from a gun, to a laptop and a tardis it was a brilliant scene. But what made this scene and made it the stand out scene of the episode was Ward and Konieg as he asked him the questions and slowly became more and more suspicious of his answers. Which led to the photo above as he aimed his gun straight for Wards head and all I could shout was just pull the trigger and get rid of m already do us all a favour. But you know Ward he can turn his brain on sometimes and make his way out of sticky situations as he mentioned Sky. I bet even Romanov couldn't fool her way out of that one. It was a brilliant scene that not only made the episode but signed Koniegs death sentence. Which to be honest I suspected to happen no matter how much I didn't want it to and he was a brilliant new member of the show. He brought a breath of fresh air to the show so to see him die this week was quite sad to see but was expected. 

Now this is something that I have mentioned in a previous post but I feel that we are finally seeing the real Sheild and the real show they wanted to create. Now that they are a small team on the run from the rest of Hydra we are finally getting more character focused episodes and seeing the show be tied into the rest of the marvel films and universe. The only probelm is that some characters are now just being side lined and left out in the cold literally. By this I mean Agent Mai who was left in the cold by agent Coulson who just annoys me at the moment as no matter what she tried even when the proof is there that she isn't lying he still hates her. So she left the team this week which might work out for the better for Mai as she is one of the more interesting characters in the show and still has so many secrets still waiting to be uncovered. We also saw her mum this week at the end of the epsiode where we see where she gets her cold ice woman charms from but it also makes for some interesting conversations and dialogue for the next episode. Her mother also mentions her agency so it makes me wonder just what sort of team she has behind her so that should make for some interesting scenes we can hope next week. So while she was left out in the cold we might be getting some more character driven episodes going into the next few episodes for agent Mai. 

Character driven episodes didn't really count for Coulson and the rest of the team this week those as they were side lined and made into a B grade storyline. His storyline could have easily been left out of the episode this week as it just slowed down the episode as the main part of the episode and brilliant scenes came from Ward and Sky. Even those this slowed down the episode it still didn't stop the epsiode from being fantastic the only part of Coulsons team that I really enjoyed was poor old Fitz. As Simmons and Tripplet become closer he tries desperately to pluck up the courage to tell Simmons just the way that he really feels. Fitz is the comedic releif of the episode that I think will make up for the loss of Konieg this week as him and Coulson stood in the gallery getting ready for the imminent arrival of Daniels. So Coulson, Fitz, Simmons and Tripplet were dispatched due to the fact that the criminals of the fridge has been released and some of the them are just plain psychopathic. So this storyline just annoyed me really because I knew that Coulson could be a moron at times just be was just appliances stupid this week. As they shon lights at Daniels to make him into a human battery when it's overloaded but what he forgot is Hydra controlled Sheild so they were making the people in the fridge into super soilders so they did the same with Daniels made him stronger. It was just plain weak this storyline for them this week and it just felt like it wasn't needed and it was just added to get them out of the picture for a few hours. With the Fitz, Simmons and Tripplet love triangle to try and make it interesting it just made it feel clunky and less and less needed it slowed down the pace and was just plain awful. But like i said Fitz was the comic releif for that small b grade storyline as he desperately tried to find the courage to tell her the truth. 

But let's get on to the good stuff the place where this epsiode just worked brilliantly and made Ward go from simple foot Soilder to cold blooded and twisted killer. So after Konieg started to slowly realise that Ward wasn't the loyal Soilder he said he was Ward came to the conclusion that he had to go. Which was sad like I said he had been a breath of fresh air for the show and I feel that they killed off a character that had massive potential for the show. But what it did do was give Sky a chance to be the first of the team to relaise that Ward was Hydra as she saw his body above her. Ward and Sky feel like Romeo and Juliet this week just not destined to be with each other as she started to fall for him just for her life to come crashing down to earth. It was a sad moment for Sky but it also opens up chances for us to start finding out more about her history and who her parents were. My theory is that her mum and dad were killed for knowing that Shield were really Hydra but who knows I'm sure that we did out in the coming weeks. So as Sky tried to find a way out of this situation she was left with the only conclusion of that she would have to go along with him and plead ignorance to the whole situation at hand. While Ward feels that she is oblivious to what's really happening I hope Sky is thinking up a plan so that she is able to get herself out of this mess. The last 10 minutes of that episode were brilliant they were tense, shocking and we finally got to see some great dialogue and character episode from the show that the fans have been crying out for. Watching as Sky ran into the toilet and realised he as Hydra watching as he ran through the facility looking for her my heart was in my mouth wondering just how the hell she would get out of this situation. Until you came to the relaisation that there was no way out of it and that she would just have to let it run it's course. 

Overall we had another brilliant episode this week of a show that started out slow and on the rocks and has become utterly brilliant over the last few weeks. It's become fast, character focused and the plot is intertwining with the cinematic universe more and more everyweek. Even with the loss of Agent Konieg this week it still hasn't taken away from what was a brilliant episode but I do feel that thus have missed out ona. Great opportunity thier with him. The whole Coulson storyline felt un needed this week and messed up and all over the place lets just hope that it's just a one off. But what I will say those is that we are finally getting brilliant episodes of a show that has finally found its feet and if this is anything to go by then the other Marvel Tv shows that are in production are going to be just as great.

Fargo The Rooster Prince Review - Hammer Time!

*SPOILERS FOR EPISODE FOLLOW*

So after last weeks exciting and just plain brilliant premiere it was hard to think how they were going to top it this week or keep the excitement train rolling. But surprisingly they did by giving us a bloody hammer, Billy Bob Thornton taking a dump and Molly starting to put the pieces together on the case of her ex partner. It all built up to be just one exciting episode and showed that this show isn't a one trick pony and that it has legs to stand on which surprised me but in a good way.

Shall we start with Lester who last week put a new meaning into the song Hammer Time see there was a point to the title. He's now trying to lie low and get on with his life as he moves in with his brother as his home is just to full of memories and a guilty Lester is trying to keep the lie going and his feeling under wraps. Martin Freeman's accent was a lot easier to deal with this week now that we are used to it and it feels like he's settled into the role quite well also. (He's done the impossible have a British Actor put on an accent without it sounding awful) Its weird because I feel like Lester was that character in the first episode that you wanted to route for as he went through his daily life getting pushed around and treated like crap. But this week I just looked at him and felt sorry for him in a way because he listened to Lorne he did the unthinkable kill his wife and then lie through his teeth to everybody. Well I say unthinkable but come on she did have it coming the way she went on at him I'm surprised that he hadn't done it sooner. But Lester wasn't such a key figure this week he was more in the background which I felt when with the character in the fact he's trying to lie low and not be seen and get on with things. Even those he's now a killer he's my faviroute character in the show mostly because he feels the most innocent out of everyone everything that is Lester is laid out there on a plate. Unlike Lorne who is dark, moody, evil and I think I will collapse if I ever see him cracking a smile.

Talking of Lorne he was just as fun and exciting to be around as having a gun put to your head. He had two brilliant scenes in episode the first being at the post office which looked more like a cafeteria then a post office. I felt sorry for that man working behind the counter a empty post office with just them to he's lucky he didn't become the new postmen's letter bag. It was so tense and my heart was in my mouth as Lorne said "you don't want me to come round and find it myself" I was thinking just say yes to everything that he asks because you don't want to meet the guy that said no. Billy Bob Thornton was amazing in the premiere and just showed himself to be utterly brilliant in the second episode as well if not a massive improvement on  the first one. Lorne was at the post office picking up his new assignment with the super market millionaire who has received a mysterious black mail letter with a odd brown stain on the back of it. This is just happens to be at the same time that he is going through divorce settlement with his soon to be ex-wife who happens to use bronzer which is the same colour as the mark on the back of the letter. At the same time as this supermarket millionaires body guard meets Lorne at his hotel room for a little chat that he doesn't like people muscling in where their not wanted. So we got another amazing Lorne moment namely dropping his trousers and taking a crap at no point losing eye contact with him. It was digesting and intimidating and weirdly was one of the highlights of the episode because Lorne and Billy have become the real highlights of the show. The intimidating nature of his character and  just brilliant nature about the way he handles situations. Such as last week with Officer Grimly who was smart enough to keep on the right side of him and not annoy him.

Officer Grimly is the most intriguing character as he's only appeared in short bursts over the last two episodes both scenes not being very long. This week we saw him battling with his inner demons and guilt as he tried to be a proper officer of the law and deal with his guilt for letting the man go. It was a great little scene with him and his daughter as he started to piece together just who the man was in the car and that he was looking at a murderer. It was also a great scene with his daughter who looked up to him and saw him as a role model well she wouldn't if she knew what he had done but he was doing it just to make sure she wasn't fatherless. Its what his daughter says that she wouldn't look away from something wrong happening or illegal and Grimly face is a picture as the guilt comes over of him of letting the man go. Grimly is a character that I feel we have only started to scratch the surface of as we each week start to get little bit more of information about him.

Talking of officers of the law those Molly she is quickly going the right way to be at the end of the next hammer time record if she's not careful. She is also in my opinion the weakest part of the episode as she spends it going against her superior and starts to harass Lester for more information on what Vern spoke to him about that night. She is quickly becoming that annoying child in the back seat of the car that asks mum are we there yet mum are we there yet. She was definably the weakest part of the episode and I just started to get tried of seeing her on screen asking the same questions over and over. I would have happily seen her be at the end of Lester's hammer this week or let Lorne get her hands on her. I just hope this isn't going to be a weekly thing from her because if it is its getting tiring very quickly.

Lastly we had two men turn up this week looking into the death of Sam Hess seeing as he did say that he had connections no one said that if was with the Fargo Mafia. They turn up looking for his killer one of them only speaking through sign language which worked great for the episode and was tense as they spoke through sign language. They soon head over to the scene of the crime where they meet a knife crazy man that fits the description of the killer that they are looking for. But when he turns out to be the wrong person they casually take out their drill put a hole in the ice and throw him in the lake. This was probably my faviroute scene of the episode and it was the last scene of the episode which worked great as a conclusion to the second episode. What was brilliantly was the way that they casually went about it  dropping him in the lake and then just walking away. Its something that I think that we are going to have to come accustomed to with this show as we meet people that kill men without a care in the world like its going to sleep to them.

Overall this was a brilliant second episode for a show that shows legs as being one of the best shows on TV this year. With one dip in the episode being Molly who if she has a run in with a hammer or a icy lake I won't be crying as I am already over the whole questioning and harassing thing going on with her character. Lorne was just utterly brilliant as he was in the premiere showing himself as a intimidating and evil man that still terrifies me and even when he's sitting on a toilet with his trousers round his ankles can still be scary. Lets just hope that we keep up with this speed and keep the ball rolling like they are as dark motions start to be put in place. Lorne and Lester team up is what I'm waiting for and I feel we won't be waiting long for it either.

Hannibal Su-zakana Review - sorry forgot all about this one

Sorry no hannibal review this week as I didn't except the there to be so much tv to get through this week so finding time to watch and review this just didn't happen so instead are give a short overview of what I thought .

This weeks episode felt like the start of season 3 rather then the second half of season 2 I don't know if you felt the same but last weeks episode was more of a season finale. So this week we got to see the start of that relationship between Will and Hannibal start to grow again which is all just a act on both their parts I would suspect. It definantly plays back to that old saying of keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer. So I just see this whole Will being nice to Hannibal as a way to get him to to let him guard down and then he will strike and finally send down the monster known as lecter. It was another brilliant episode from them this week those as this season is managing to do something that no other show is doing showing that with good writing and faith you can make each episode a 10 out of 10 epsidoe and keep us glued to the screen. But it was great the killer was twisted and we got to see that team up of Hannibal and Will as they took down this killer that looked to make people reborn. If you think shoving them inside a horse will make them reborn and make you less guilty then your wro just makes you sick in the head. So are just give some quick bullet points of some of the highlights of epsiode as I said again this won't be a review as I haven't had the time to properly reveiw it so he format is diffrent but will go back of normal next week. 

. The killer this week was twisted sick and just brilliant that end scene where he came out of the horses stomach it was just disgusting but like I've sais before nothing shocks me wih this show anymore. 

. There was no aftermath of the dr chillton incident last week which I found weird not to see Miriam it was just like water under the bridge that happened let's just carry on. They do really need to clear all of that up. 

.no Freddy Lownes again this week where is she being a fantastic character for the show I thought that we would have seen her this week looking for a scoop on the whole chillton murder. 

.that dinner scene between hannibal, will and Jack was so tense but great as Jack and Will showed signs of wanting to make Hannibal sweat and catch him out. It was also great to see Hannibal cooking something that we knew wasn't a person this week. 

.things are being set up nicely for a brilliant second half of the seasons which could be just as brilliant if not better then the first half. 

Again sorry for the weird format this week but I will be honest I forgot about this one this week but are make sure that it goes back to the normal format next week. Was good those just come on let's get this show more ratings so it gets a third season because it's just amazing.

Game of Thrones "Breakers of Chains" Review - well you know how to get people talking don't you

 *Spoilers ahead the episode*

So after last weeks massive shock ending with the death of everyone's hated king Joffery who can I say I actually missed this week mostly because I don't have anyone to shout my abuse at. Well Renely I guess your going to have to aren't you because your the next biggest evil bastard in the show. But if this show is anything it's shocking and they like to cause controversy and get people talking. But are get into that later because everyone reading this knows what I'm talking about and if you don't here's a clue involves Jamie. 

But shall we just start from the beginning so this week we started seconds after where it finished last week with a crazed Cersei calling for Sansa to be taken in as she may have conspired with Tyrion on killing Joffery. Which come on it would make sense seeing as she had more reason then anyone to kill Joffery seeing as he executed her father in front of her and then made her live in Kings Landing and suffer and suffer and just suffer some more. So she finally made her escape this week which is something that has been coming for a long while and we saw a return of one Lord Balish sneaky old Little Finger. Who if you remember a long time ago he did always promised that he would save Sansa and get her out of Kings Landing but at what cost because there's a definantly a deal hiding under this plan. His words also gave suspicion that he was the one that poisoned Joffery which would make sense why wouldn't it be little finger he hated Joffery just as much as everyone else. This weeks epsidoe felt like one of those reaction videos on YouTube to the red wedding from season 3. It was going to diffrent members of the cast and seeing how they reacted to last weeks big death and just catching up with Danerys and the hound and Arya who were just brilliant again. And let's be honest apart from this mother there wasn't anyone that was crying about the death of thier king even Twyin didn't have any trouble in slagging him off while his dead body lay there. 

So let's talk about that Tywin scene Charles is just utterly brilliant as Twyin and every week I just find myself loving his character more and more as we moulded his grandson into another Twyin. With a new king needed and the younger brother of Joffery set for the throne his grandpa was keen to show him the way of being a good king. This was just one of two scenes that he was Twin in this week as the kings hand it's his job to get loyal allies to band with him as Kings landing comes to terms with the death. But what was brilliant about this weeks episode and it's what I love about Tywin as a character it's his way with words and just how brutally horrible and evil he can be. As his own grandson lay there dead he didn't show any sadness just hate and disgust for the fact that he had managed to get himself killed. It was like a quiz show for him those this week as he grilled his grandson on what makes a good king and made him into the king that he wants him to be because the last thing they want is another Joffery. Twyin was a highlight for the episode this week because he was the symbolisation of everyone's opinion on Joffery in the show and the fans. That we looked upon him with disgust, dissapointment and hate as you were glad to finally see him laying thier dead and we wouldn't have to deal with anymore of those snarky comments and tones. But I still couldn't help but feel sad seeing him dead on that altar because I just thought back to as he died clutching onto his mother scared and wanting help.

But in the same scene we had what has become a big controversy which is understandable and just made me hate Jamie again he's like a rollar coaster up and down up and down. Hate him and then love him and then I'm back to hating him again. As he came to see his sister and on-off lover to pay his respects to his son and give Cersei a shoulder to cry on. Which turned from less a shoulder to cry on and more let me pin you down by the shoulders because I've been back long enough and you have made me wait for to long. So let's not beat around the bush he raped his sister next to the dead corpse of his son and king it was dark and twisted and not enjoyable to watch. I had trouble looking at the screen and watching what they were doing both because it's quite sick anyway that they are brother and sister, and he raped her/raped her next to a dead body. It's defiantly something that was put into the show because I am going to guess that it's part of the books again like I said I haven't read the books so haven't got a clue but I'm going to guess that it is. But I know that there has been a lot of changes over the last couple of epsiodes so maybe this was just another one of thier changes. What's great about this show is that they don't care about the content that they put in and they have the balls to put this out and if you don't like it then get over it because there's worse to come. So I can totally understand why there has been controversy because to be honest I didn't agree with it either but it's game of thrones at the end of the day and it's something that we should have come to expect from this show. But what I feel is something that will be great to see is where this takes us next week because I can imagine that Jamie could be looking for a one way ticket to becoming a cell mate with Tyrion. But who knows maybe she won't do anything because she's to grief stricken to worry about it seeing as they are former lovers after all so her brother having sex with her isn't wrong to her. 

So Tyrion it's just not going his way is it his father is creating a jury of allies that will be like yes men who will agree with everything that Twyin says. It's just the sort of situation that he's being looking for hasn't he really seeing as he has no love for his son which we all know why he hates him and I won't goo into that because that's like recapping the whole of the last few seaons. But Tyrion just wasn't having any luck this week and he made it quite clear to everyone that if it wasn't obvious already that he didn't have anything to do with Jofferys death. He would have loved to have been the one behind that master plan but if he was he would have been far enough way from where it happened and not standing gawping inches from his body. So that if you had any doubts that he was the killer should have put your minds at ease because he's to obvious to be the killer and he's smarter then that. But what we did get from Tyrion all but short that it was, was a great little scene with Podrick which was quite sweet really. As Tyrion has grown to love and care about this boy I mean he made him into a man didn't he. But it was sweet and caring as we saw that lighter side of Tyrion as he tried to make sure that everyone closet to him was safe and out of the firing line. But poor old Pod he's that person you can just imagine that he was mothered for most of his life so isn't really wise of the world he's almost like a baby and cute in a way. But it was sweet as he tried to stay loyal to Tyrion but was in the end made to take the deal that was given to him before something worse happened to him. This week while it wasn't anywhere near as brilliant as last weeks episode it was great to get back to these character focused scenes after last weeks hectic wedding.

Where these character focused scenes fell down those was with Sam oh Sam you love her but you are just to proud and loyal to your oath to tell her the truth. It just felt weak and slowed down the pacing for the episode and very much bored me as it felt very dragged out. I also didn't get the point of Sams motives because it doesn't help anyone does it, it makes things worse for both of them. She's now stuck living down in a house with a group of horrible people that are just lookig to kill her for he is wildling and Sam is going to be thinking about her and will hardly be able to check up on her as the Wildlings approach the wall. The whole same story could have been cut down to just key dialogue as it started to slow down and make Jon Snow and the meeting of the crows feel very unimportant as well. I have always found that Sam should have stayed as a side character because that's really where he works and he plays well off of some of the stronger characters. It's the reason I don't feel he worked by himself in season 3 because he's a weaker character and not really someone to route for more just well he's survived longer then I thought he would. It was weak and I just felt confused wih how he had come to the decision and where his motives lie he's like one those kids at school that always try's to get in with the cool kids it's the only way I can describe him. 

But enough about Sam shall we talk about something that was a welcome return The hound and Arya who were once again just brilliant. Hound is fast becoming the comedy releif for the show the both of the tme feel like a comedy double act as Arya tried to keep everything sweet and apologise for what he was saying. I mean come on the hound is an ass that's what he does best at the end of the day and thier isn't any way of changing that and I don't think that you would want to change him that's what makes him so likeable. So again this week like I said a couple of weeks ago after the premiere i find that the hound is slowly starting to like Arya and Arya is the same with the hound. They have become dependent on each other even when Arya feels like one of those kids in the back of the car asking "dad are we there yet dad are we there yet" But it was another great scene with them and I again felt like they stole the episode again from the rest of the cast because it was that comedy relief that we needed from an otherwise dark and depressing tone. It was needed for the epsiode and it worked and I felt that it was the strongest scene in the episode and I just could t help but love the hound during grace around the table. It was funny because he looked so huge at that table and just hearing him basically try and get them to hurry up because I'm sick of your chatting because my only god is my stomach. This week I feel would have been a lot weaker without this scene as it relieved the audience of the dark tone that we were being forced by making us laugh and feel lighter that something was going right for some people at least. 

Things that weren't going right were for Baratheon who I don't really want to speak about because he's just becoming more of an annoyance then excitement. So like the rest of the cast we saw him react to the death of Jofferyy and he was like that little villain sitting in a chair wi a white cat scheming and planing he's dr evil basically. See this scene was like the wilding scene that came with this episode they didn't feel like that were needed as there was much more important plot lines in the episode that could have been filled in thier place. The Wildlings scene again like in the premiere I didn't really see the need of mad it just felt weak I didn't feel fear about them I just looked at them and thought your on the other side of the wall in hot sunshine why are you wearing all those clothes. I'm not even joint about that I literally got annoyed that they were still wearing winter clothes that's how disinterested I have become with the wildings and that whole storyline the way that that they are handling it at the moment. 

We ended strongly again this week this time with everyone's faviroute queens of dragons daneryreous I really do apologise of the spelling I spell her name diffrently every time. But you can never put a foot wrong with ending an episode with this group I mean they ended last season with them and that was just utterly fantastic in my opinion. So this week we got a brilliant speech from her as she basically told the slaves that they don't have to be slaves that they could join her be free and have a free life of chains. Which she follwed by catapulting barrels of broken chains into the city which I found brilliant because it's simple yet effect at sending a message that I am your saviour and that you don't have to live under tyrants anymore. She was also mentioned this week by Tywin who showed a sense of fear about her which to be honest I would be terrified of her she gets more confident and powerful the more we see her. She certainly isn't that young frail girl being wed to Drogo anymore is she it's like looking at a completly diffrent woman. It was a brilliant scene to end a otherwise less exciting epsiode that lost its way half way throughg the epsiode with Sam but found its way back with the hound. 

Overall Game of thrones just never fails to impress and gave us another brilliant epsiode this week which while it was weaker then last weeks episode it still didn't fail to shock and impress. This epsidoe set all the wheels in motion for big things to come as everyone comes to terms with the death of Joffery. We have the Tyrion court case to come yet that will be exciting and are we looking at the return of Little Finger to a weekly cast member which would be brilliant as he had been greatly missed by me and a lot of other people I'm sure.

Fargo Premiere Review - Everyone is capable of being a killer

*SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE FOLLOW*

So I just finished watching the premiere of Fargo and its certainly not the first thing that I thought that I would be watching on a Easter Sunday evening. I will also say that I have never watched the original Coen Brothers movie but know of it and just how brilliant it is so it was a surprise to for me to see it getting a series adaption. Its certainly not the first thing I expected them to give a television adaption to and I know there was a lot of uncertainty riding on whether this would work or not. So lets just say that I'm happy to say that it works wonderfully and I was engrossed from start to finish. Martin Freeman, Billy Bob Thortan and Colin Hanks just to name a few make up a brilliant cast of actors who give some of the greatest performances of their careers and thats just in this first part. (Are call it parts because it feels more like chapters of a story rather then episodes)

But lets start with Martin he's certainly come a long way from those days in the Office with David Brent with Sherlock and The Hobbit under his belt he's becoming the hot actor of the moment. So he makes the perfect fit for the character such as Lester a man who's a push over, hated by his wife, his brother and bullied by a man from his school days that can't help but remind him he's been with his wife. (before they were together of course but still a punch in the face when reminded) Martin plays the push over role very well as he just lets himself get pushed around like a human punching bag. Lester is a loser and a coward and very much a gentleman in that he's to proud to be horrible in his job, or to his wife and the bully and his two kids that are half his age but still able to get around him. His performance is captivating, brilliant and pitiful as you feel sorry for this loser of a man and even start to want to say to him yourself "just grow some balls" All of this is done with this almost believable American accent. (You have been putting your practice in for this role haven't you Martin) He's accent is the real make or break of the performance as everyone has come to know him for the gentlemanly British voice whether its in the Office, Sherlock or the Hobbit. So to not here him speaking in his normal voice will start out as a bit of a shock and something hard to get used to but you quickly learn to love it. But its not until the second half of the episode when Lester starts to become well rightly pi**ed off with being pushed around that things start to get interesting. I will say that the premiere does start out very slow as it starts to get really into the plot and story but I had no problems with that as the performances and music especially which compensates the performances brilliantly make for a great premiere.

But like I said before its not until half way through the premiere that things start to get going and the plot starts to get dark and twisted and take a turn for the sadistic. This is help along the way by the Bad Santa himself Billy Bob Thornton who plays Lorne a man that we meet at the start of the premiere episode. As he's driving down a highway and crashes on the side of the highway just for a man stripped down to his underpants escape from the trunk of his car. This was one of the strongest scenes in the premiere as it introduced us to Lorne and that we are looking at a dark story and Lorne shouldn't be messed with. Throughout the premiere we like Lester got to know who Lorne is and where he gets his thoughts on how to deal with a man that makes a fool of you. (The short and nice answer is just kill him) His scene of the episode is Lester and Lorne's meeting in the hospital where Lorne having only spoke to him for 5 minutes tells him to grow some balls and finally be a man about things. Its also where we get to see that Lorne loves the thought of killing people and feeds on it. This is when he offers to kill Lester's little problem namely being his school bully and all he had to do was say yes. Which while he hesitated it was clear what the answer was. This whole episode was Lorne and Lester focused and as the 2 big actors in the show they also gave massive amazing performances to boot. Lester throughout the episode was like boiling water. Throughout the premiere slowly simmering and then boiling until it boiled and bubbled over as he finally flipped and had enough. All through Lorne's faithful guidance and becomes a guardian angel for him in the final part of the premiere as he helps him get through his problems.

So like I said Lester was like boiling water at the start he's simmering taking what was given to him and acting like there was nothing wrong with his life and relationship. Then it started to boil as his brother gets to much for him calling him useless which gets to much for him as he punches his brother. Slowly things start to boil and get to boiling point as heads clash and Lorne's words of wisdom become to much for him to be less words and more actions. This all comes to a head when Martin Freeman reaches his the peak of his performance in the episode as Lester changes from less pushover to more monster and psycho. This is something that Martin does brilliantly as an actor and its apparent in the second instalment of the Hobbit also if any of you have seen that. All I will say is don't go near Lester when hammer is about and if your moaning about him blowing up the washing machine. That what his wife did and we all saw what happened to her didn't we she got the literal meaning of hammer time. At first I thought it was just a dream that he was dreaming of doing it and then he would wake up to his wife still moaning at him. I realised it wasn't those as he hit her again and again on the ground and got rid of his clothes as Lester's sudden burst of confidence left him and changed to fear. Its something brilliant about Martin as an actor he's able to change his emotions so quickly from anger to fear and back to anger again as quick as a flash. This is where Lorne like I said earlier acts almost as his guardian angel as he saves Lester from the police officer that investigates the house and finds his wife in the basement. But what I wondered while watching the scene play out as Lorne suddenly disappeared from the scene of the crime like thin air. It made me wonder if maybe he's less a guardian angel and just Lester the part of Lester that he wishes that he was a confident man that doesn't take people making him for a fool. The message of the premiere I feel is that everyone is capable of being a killer and that it only takes one thing to tip a man over the edge and your mind stops working and the adrenaline and rage take over. Its all made for a brilliant premiere episode to a fantastic new series with the brothers saying they have many ideas for further series down the line if this is successful.

Colin Hanks was introduced at the end of the episode was even for the small amount of time that he was in the episode it was still a brilliant performance that he gave along side Thornton. Now I have never seen Colin in anything other then Dexter and that horrendous comedy the House Bunny if your remember that one. So I have never really been sold on him as an actor before even with all the talent that runs through his family. But he gives a brilliant performance in this premiere as he sits in his squad car talking on the radio with his daughter as she tells him that she's done most of her homework. Its great watching his try and balance his work and his family life as you start to get the impression that his daughter is the most important thing in his life. This all becomes clear when a speeding car goes past him and it just happens to be Lorne who gives a fanatic monologue. Its twisted and evil as Billy gives this look that I will kill you where you stand if you don't take the deal that I am offering you now. This scene was again fantastic and showed some brilliant acting and direction for a premiere that opened up a plot that is sure to just get better and better.

This premiere was fantastic it was dark, sometimes funny and slow which normally I wouldn't praise a show for but for this show it works and makes for a brilliant way to introduce us to the characters. Being a slower opener it showed us just how dull and boring Lester's life is and as things start to take a darker turn so does the pace as it starts to pick up. The whole pacing for the premiere was brilliant and felt very fleshed out and left things open for a brilliant new series that looks to be brilliantly successful. With a cast of brilliant actors giving some performances of their lives and their careers it made for some great film to watch on the screen. I just hope that we are going to get the same level of performances throughout the rest of the series because if we do we could be looking at one of the best series of the year and the start of a new series of programming for the brothers.
